Parents and Students
Part of a network of over 400 French international schools worldwide, the Lycée's students represent over 25 nationalities. The uniform curriculum and teaching methods allow children to transfer easily from one French school to another, as their families move from San Francisco to Hong Kong or London, Moscow or Mexico City. Additionally, students of Lycée Français La Pérouse can readily transfer to any public school in France. Indeed, many of our American students attend school in France, individually or in class groups, for a few weeks, months, or even an entire scholastic year. At any point students can transfer to American schools.

Faculty
We have a teaching staff of approximately 150 teachers. Senior staff administrators, as well as a significant number of faculty, are sent to us from France with salaries paid by the French government.

Members of the faculty are French, educated in French universities, except for teachers of Spanish, German, English and American history. Instructors and administrators have renewable employment contracts of 1-3 years duration. There are no tenured positions. Approximately 25% of the faculty is new each year, bringing international perspective and experience as they come to us from French schools in Europe, the Middle East, Asia, South America, Africa and elsewhere. Others, permanent residents of the San Francisco Bay Area, have been faculty members since the Lycée's founding.

Alumni
Upon leaving the Lycée students depart with a French Baccalauréat and many, as well, with a US high school diploma. They then set-off to work or study around the globe. Keeping accurate track of our alumni depends on all of you to stay in touch with us. We will keep in contact with all alumni, send the Fil Info and annual event announcements and forward any messages from other alumni. Want to know more about keeping in touch?
