Admissions

Dear parents,

Thank you for your interest in the Lycée Français La Pérouse, primary and secondary school located in San Francisco and in Corte Madera. In fact, the Lycée now has three campuses:

  • A primary school in Corte Madera, from Preschool (30 months old eligible in Part-time PK1 and beginning 2 years and 8 months for full time PK1) to 5th grade;
  • A primary school in San Francisco, on the Ashbury campus (@Frederick) from Preschool (2 years and 8 months - full time only) to 5th grade;
  • A Junior and High School on our new Ortega campus (@19th Ave.), from 6th to 12th grade

This Lycée’s website contains information on the school's history, its mission, its French curriculum (dictated by the French Ministry of Education), its English curriculum and answers to those frequently asked questions. It also contains all necessary documents to complete the pre-enrollment procedures (including the Application for Admission). You can also access, in order to better understand the French academic program, a great number of informational websites links for you to read.

If you would like to visit one of our campuses, you may attend one of the Open House events offered throughout the year (see included Open House card). If more convenient, you can register for one of our bi-weekly tours, available on Tuesdays and Thursdays mornings from October to February. To reserve space in these limited group events, please register in advance by email only at admissions@lelycee.org.

You are invited to return the Application for Admission along with all necessary documents to the Admission Office at 755 Ashbury Street, San Francisco, CA 94117. This office welcomes all applications for the three campuses: Corte Madera, SF-Ashbury and Ortega.

Upon reception of your complete application package, a private meeting, with your child, will be scheduled to further discuss possibilities of enrollment at the Lycée. This interview will give you the opportunity to ask specific questions about the school and will help me understand your motivation for applying to the Lycée for your child(ren).

Finally, the Admission Committee, composed of the Head of school, primary or secondary academic directors, teachers and myself, will review each application carefully. If your motivation and our common vision on education and school life meet our admissions' criteria (i.e. age, openings, French language ability, etc.), you will receive, between the end of February and the middle of March, a letter of acceptance finalizing your child's admission.

The Admissions Office remains available to help you learn more about the school, its culture, teachers and staff, right up to the first day of school.

The Lycée Français La Pérouse is a unique opportunity for young children to share different cultures and languages and take advantage of the excellence of a French education in an American multicultural setting.

I look forward to meeting with you very soon.
