Admissions

Thank you for your interest in Lycée Français La Pérouse, the International French School, located in San Francisco and in Corte Madera. In fact, the Lycée now has three campuses: in Corte Madera, a primary school, from Preschool (2 1/2 years old) to 5th grade; in San Francisco, a primary school on the Ashbury campus (@Frederick) and a Junior and High School on our new Ortega campus (@19th Ave.).

The Lycée Web site contains information on the school's history, its curriculum (dictated by the French Ministry of Education), answers to those frequently asked questions and all necessary documents to complete the pre-enrollment procedure (including the Application for Admission). You can also access, in order to better understand the French academic program, a great number of informational websites links for you to read.

If you would like to visit our campuses, you may attend one of the Open Houses offered throughout the year (see calendar). To ensure space in these limited group events, please reserve in advance by mail, email, fax or telephone.

You are invited to return the Application for Admission either before or after meeting with the school and its staff. Then, if your application meets our admissions' criteria (i.e. age, availability, French language ability, etc.), we will be happy to meet with you and your child to further discuss possibilities for entrance in the Lycée. An observation session may happen, in group or individually and your child's file will then be reviwed by our Admission Committee.

If an opening is available and upon receipt of our letter of acceptance, you and your child are ready for a complete French education in a bicultural environment leading to the French Baccalauréat. At this point we will be pleased to finalize your child's admission to the school.

The Admissions Office remains available to help you learn more about the school, its culture, teachers and staff, right up to the first day of school.

Lycée Français La Pérouse is a unique opportunity for children to share different cultures and languages, from as early as age 3, and take advantage of the excellence of a French education within an American multicultural setting.

I look forward to meeting with you very soon.
