Introduction

The Lycee francais of San Francisco offers a fun and unique experience for kids aged from 5 to 15 year old. All year long, our bilingual programs help children develop and improve their linguistic proficiency through a variety of theme camps. Our programs have been developed to nurture your child’s self-esteem through the discovery of performing arts, arts and crafts, computer science, sciences, fashion design, cooking, games, sports and visual and decorative art.

And all that...with a French touch!

The workshops will successfully balance creative art work, games and sports. Any theme camp La Perouse is certain to be a memorable experience.

How would it feel if your child came home and told you his last painting is based on Matisse's Fauvist influence or about the differences between impressionism and classical art? Even better, if the next day your kid came home singing an old French song and telling you about a story by Moliere.

Our team consists of experienced teachers who will be in charge of providing your child with an entertaining and cultural camp in a safe environment. These animators work at the Lycée Français, either as regular classroom or extra-curricular teachers.

The participants will be divided into groups based on their age. The various programs have been designed to address the creative and playful side of children, all in an educational environment. At the end of each session, the participants will be proud of their collective projects. Children will participate in all stages of the production.

Snacks (baguette, crepes or croissants and jam or Nutella, fruit and fruit juices) are also included.

During the summer, our Marin campus provides an ideal surrounding for summer camps, without the famous San Francisco fog. The outdoor space is huge and contains different open-air games. We will have the use of numerous rooms equipped for music, dance, arts, and with computers.

At the end of each week, campers will perform a show or a presentation of their work. The final project will be presented during a buffet for all of the parents and friends.

The camp will incorporate various sports, including soccer, basketball, volleyball and judo. The group and sports activities lead by our experienced P.E. teachers will be based on the children’s ages.

Physical education is an essential component of the camp. Children will develop their athletic skills while having fun. Tournaments and games will be organized daily.

For the Younger Children
Children between the ages of 5 and 6 will spend their days playing new games and discovering new friends. The program is specifically focused on developing and reinforcing their cognitive skills and bilingual vocabulary. The hands-on activities are based on games and songs. The children will also participate in various workshops that integrate theater and art projects, including body movements, music, cooking, sports, and science.

Communication
Parents will be able to get in touch with their children by calling the office during the day. In addition, parents will be invited to attend shows or presentation of art work and free buffet at the end of each week.

Childcare
Childcare is provided in the mornings from 8:00 to 9:00 am and from 3:00pm to 6:00pm in Marin, and from 8:00 to 8:20 am in San Francisco. We reserve the right to cancel hours if less than 5 campers signed up for day care.

Computers
Participants will learn basic computer programs, such as Word and PowerPoint, learn to do research on the Internet, as well as drawing, printing, taking pictures and editing them using Photoshop, and creating web pages.

Across these many disciplines, participants will be given the opportunity to express themselves as well as participate in the creation of a collective project. The primary goals of the Summer Camp La Pérouse are to develop children’s artistic sensitivities, promote cultural exchange, and solidify friendships.
