Extra-curricular activities, summer camps at the lycée and elsewhere
Extra-curricular activities at the Lycée: The US school day wraps up earlier than at the Lycée, and outside activities frequently begin in early afternoon. It's easier to sign up for extra-curricular activities available at the Lycée (generally available in French). Information is available at the beginning of each trimester. Lycée Camps
The Corte Madera campus offers several outdoor summer camp sessions for children ages 5-13. Bus service is available from San Francisco. Practicing English
French-speaking children who have just arrived can participate in numerous activities held every weekend and during summer vacation throughout the Bay Area.

Publications
Publications, such as Children's News (Children's Council of San Francisco), Bay Area Parents, Parents' Press, Family News, Fast Forward, Northern California Parents are distributed at no cost throughout the Bay Area in libraries and stores. They list activities offered for children and adolescents.

Other camps
Camps for summer vacation are announced in the spring. Note: Summer camp sign-up can start as early as March. The directories of the American Camping Association-Northern California (415) 453-1832, as well as the Western Association of Independent Camps (415) 787-9242, list accredited camps.

Activities and/or camps near the San Francisco Lycée Campus
Acrosports; the Circus Center; USF Kids Camp; USF Youth University; UCSF Milberry Union; Explorer's Club;and the YMCA, offer sports programs/camps during the school year and summer vacation.

The Randall Museum; SF League of Urban Gardeners; California Academy of Sciences, also offer numerous workshops and activities during the summertime that students can participate in with or without a parent present.

The SF Park and Recreation Department, located at the McLaren Lodge, 501 Stanyan Street provides information on recreational and sports activities including swimming, tennis, golf, tiny tots programs for the very young child, as well as art classes at Sharon Art Studio.

Organized Sports
To form a soccer team/league and participate in tournaments, contact San Francisco Vikings Youth Soccer League (415) 504-8131. Some parents within the Lycée coach existing teams who have space for new students, depending on their ages.

Around the Bay
Obtain information from your county's Park and Recreation Department, various public and private schools, universities, YMCA, etc. Mill Valley-based Adventure Camps covers vacations and has bus service from Marin and San Francisco.

Accompagnement scolaire et cours de soutien pendant l'année en anglais

Kumon Math and Reading Centers; Sylvan Learning Centers; Score!, ont des branches un peu partout dans la baie. Parents Place, organise un programme de tutorat gratuit ‘'On the Mark'' pour les élèves de 8 à 18 ans.
