Meet our community
This video series tells the many (love) stories of our community, those from students, but also from the adults who surround them. Each is different, yet all express a common appreciation for our school and its community.
You will find below all the episodes produced to date and that you can also find on Vimeo or on YouTube.
S03 E04 | Janelle
Janelle is a parent and a trustee. Her son started at the Lycée in preschool and joined the International Track this year : he loves it! Now fully bilingual, he can continue practicing his French and gets to learn in a slightly different way that better fits his personality.
S03 E03 | Maria
Maria joined the Lycée in 2022 from Barcelona and loves her school.
Especially the community.
"Here it doesn't matter where you come from because at the end we're all together and we learn from each other".
S03 E02 | Sofia
Sofia would tell you that she has been at the Lycée her entire life. She speaks Spanish at home and learned French and English at school. Now she's perfectly trilingual but that's not the only reason why she loves the Lycée... Watch the video to learn more!
S03 E01 | Loic Suberville, Alumni
Loïc attended the Lycée from Maternelle to Gr12 and is now, 10 years later, a well-known Youtuber with over 3 million subscribers. He reflects here on how his Lycee international education prepared him to embrace the different languages and cultures he now portrays and how our theater program helped him get to where he is today.
S02 E10 | Eileen
Eileen joined the Lycée over thirty years ago and cherished every moment of her teaching career. She remembers each child from her English class and enjoyed working during camps and collaborating with colleagues. As she moves into a new chapter of her life, her heart is filled with wonderful memories and friendships.
S02 E09 | George and Max
George has been a Lycée parent for close to a decade now. The Lycée was not an obvious choice for his three sons as his family lives in Berkeley but they found here "a school that not only broadens the mind but elevates the heart". Max (Gr 11) joins him in sharing their experience.
S02 E08 | Rebecca
Rebecca loves that her parents chose for her an international education that opens a wide range of opportunities. At school, she leads the Coalition of Black students and Allies club through which she aims to strenghten ties with her peers and cultural awareness.
S02 E07 | ZARA
Zara has a passion for the outdoors and the preservation of the environment. As the founder of the LEAF club -Lycée Environmental Action Force - the Lycée senior explains the motivation for her engagement that will be motivation of choices moving forward.

S02 E04 | VERA
In this new episode of the 'Lycée J'adore' series, let's meet Vera, a Gr12 student on our beautiful Ortega Campus. This year marks her final step before embarking into the world of colleges and universities! Vera has been actively involved at the Lycée, from Class president, to Model UN representative, and has particularly enjoyed her travel experiences thanks to her school. She's now progressing towards colleges and universities through her applications. Discover Vera's thoughts on this transition and the fields she aspires to pursue after high school!
S02 E03 | MELISSA
Mélissa is a Spanish teacher with 2 years of experience at the Lycée and over a decade of international teaching background. In San Francisco, she found a city and a community where she feels a sense of belonging. She enjoys involving her students in local community service. Antoine opens up about his time and experience as a student at the Lycée. After growing up in Canada and China, he and his family made their way to the Lycée in San Francisco, where Antoine discovered a new school that he quickly fell in love with!
S02 E01 | CAMILLE
Camille is a true Bay Area native where she met her soul mate and is raising her two beautiful children, in the heart of our vibrant community. Camille and her husband share a deep appreciation for the Lycee and the education it provides her two children enrolled on our beautiful Sausalito campus. Watch her video to learn why.
S01 E13 | EMMANUEL TEXIER
Emmanuel, became Head of School at the Lycée in 2017. Prior to joining our school, he had worked all over the world : in Australia, China and France. He is convinced that education, and more so bilingual education, can really make a difference in the life of a student. One of his goals is for all children enrolled at the Lycée to achieve their full potential. And since his arrival, he's already had many wonderful examples of that happening!
S01 E14 | EMILY AND RYAN
Emily and Ryan are proud Lycée parents. When they moved to the Bay Area, they explored various school options for their son Andrew before choosing to enroll him at the Lycée on the beautiful Sausalito campus. Andrew is now in Gr2/CE1, and his younger brother is following in his footsteps through the Happy Play program.
In addition to valuing bilingualism, Ryan and Emily appreciate how the Lycée fosters independence and organizational skills in their children. Both parents are actively involved in the school community: Emily serves as a room parent, and Ryan as a Board Trustee.

S01 E12 | Xuebing
Xuebing is passionate about languages and it's one of the reasons why she chose to be a teacher. Besides Mandarin, she speaks French, English, two Chinese dialects, some Japanese and she is learning Spanish! Her students also have the opportunity to better understand the Chinese culture through events such as the Lunar New Year. Last year, the celebrations were memorable!
S01 E11 | Fabian
Meet Fabian, Lycée IT Director. His interest for technology (and his love for tech solutions and gadgets!) as well as his exceptional work during the pandemic naturally led him to build and oversee the IT team. Before that, Fabian had many lives: Lycée parent, professional photographer and Lycée communication manager. A jack of all trades, who's also perfectly fluent in German, English and French!
S01 E10 | Yufei
Yufei is a Chinese Lycée mom, her daughter Kelly is in MS B / Pre-K B on the ASH campus. Her family moved from NYC two years ago where they initiated their application to the Lycée. At the time, they were looking for an academically strong school that values cultural diversity.
Two years later, Yufei explains they also found a very welcoming community and way more.
S01 E09 | Nathalie
Once upon a time, in a bilingual school, worked a French preschool teacher named Nathalie. Through the years she has also been the parent of a Lifer and is now an admissions associate. This magical fairy is perfectly bilingual : she speaks both the faculty and the administration languages and considers the Lycée community as her extended family. S01 E08 | Isabella
Isabella is in Gr 11, computer science is her passion. Last year, she was part of the team who won the CoderZ competition and this year, she started the "Girls who code" Lycée club! But it's not her only hobby...

S01 E07 | Alexandre
Alexandre comes from the West Coast... of France. He only lived outside of Brittany once before joining the Lycée. Here, he enjoys teaching smaller groups of students so that he can tailor his pedagogy to each of them. As someone who used to teach in English in France and now teaches in French in the US. He appreciates the bilingual aspect of the curriculum.
S01 E06 | ABDELLAH
Abdellah BOUAZAMA joined the Lycée last year. He speaks three languages : French, English and Amazigh (a Moroccan dialect). He grew up in Alsace, a French region with German influence, also close to Switzerland. This multicultural environment encouraged him to explore the world. S01 E05 | SÉO
Séo is in Gr 9. Fully satisfied with his experience at the Lycée so far, Séo didn't even considered studying elsewhere than at Lycée High. He is passionate about many things : archery, programing, math problems, creative writing and digital art. He loves that he can pursue all his passions with the support of his teachers.
S01 E04 | NOA
Noa is a lifer and a senior at Lycée High. Her parents are French and choosing Lycée for their three children was a no brainer for them. During the summer 2021, her family was held back in France for visa purposes. But Noa, as a US citizen, decided to come back to the Lycée by herself to continue on at Lycée High.
S01 E03 | KATIA BLOOM
Katia is a non-French speaking parent and a trustee. A few years ago, her family and her went through a traumatic event. And the Lycée community showed up for them. She will never forget the support they got and tells us how happy she is to have found her home at Lycée.
S01 E02 | NICOLAS
Today Nicolas is a Lifer, just like his mother before him. And yet... In Gr 8, he considered other options in the Bay Area. After a lot of exploring and thinking, he decided to stay at Lycée High. In this video, he explains why it was the right choice!

We are opening the series with August, a Lycée High student (Gr 10) who started in Maternelle - a Lifer - , has no French at home, and who made the choice to complete his bilingual journey at the Lycée. He explains his choice and tells his (love) story with his school.
