2023 Start'up Lycée

Gender Equity

The 2023 Edition on Gender Equity

This year, our Gr10 students mobilized around the theme of Gender Equity to imagine, design and build a start-up and its business plan.

Once again, they had the opportunity to be coached by local leaders and to pitch their projects in front of a jury of professionals.

Congratulations to the 3 teams who were selected by the jury:

  • Coda (1st place),
  • 4C and
  • Purple Apparel

as well as to all the other participants for their wonderful projects.

A big thank you to all our coaches and jury members for their involvement in this great entrepreneurial adventure!

What is Start'up Lycee

Start'Up Lycee is a group and project based program, organized annually by LFSF and designed to introduce Gr 10 students to the process of a startup launch.

As an integral part of the curriculum in Economics and Social Sciences (SES), Start'Up Lycee is an opportunity for students to expand the skills acquired during the school year (research, written argumentation, presentation or "pitching") and propose their own solutions to a contemporary issue. This is a chance for them to practice their skills in a practical way, and to prepare for their higher education and eventually for their professional future.

This year's theme is still undisclosed and will only be revealed to students on the first of the 2 day event. Students will then identify a need for which they can define targets,  competition, potential partnerships and projected expected revenues.

Teams are coached and evaluated by professionals from our community at large.
