All We Celebrate in February!
One of the many perks of growing up and learning in an international school is the array of celebrations students get to experience, each developing awareness for the many cultures of the world. At LFSF, these celebrations are student-led and student centered.
Lunar New Year
The Lion dance is an example of the cheerful celebration of the Lunar New Year on our campuses
Each year, our Mandarin students orchestrate a day of celebrations for the Lunar New Year. This year is no exception! For the Year of the Dragon, students will enjoy a show and some delicious Asian foods! 龙年大吉
Beyond Valentine’s Day
Helping students navigate the challenges and joys that come with relationships is one of the focuses of the activities and resources in February.
In February, the focus of our wellness team will be to move beyond the traditional Valentine’s day celebrations to focus on promoting healthy relationships and cultivating positive, caring, and respectful connections within our school community. Students and staff are planning a range of activities and resources to answer some of the most common concerns and questions regarding dealing with complicated relationships, because strong relationships support individual well-being.
Black History Month
Watch Rebecca’s video and learn how her Club’s initiatives bring students together
When Rebecca's parents were looking for a school that would provide their three anglophone daughters with an international and bilingual education, they made the LFSF choice. Thanks to that decision, Rebecca has been able to learn in multiple languages and benefit from the excellent and well-rounded education at the Lycee. Rebecca also leads the student club created by her sister Claire (now at Yales University): the Coalition of Black Students and Allies that is planning new initiatives to strengthen awareness and belonging.
