Celebrating LatinX Heritage Month
Mexican Lotería in Spanish Class
FRENCH TRACK | INTERNATIONAL TRACK | DEIB IN ACTION
In honor of LatinX Heritage Month, Gr 8 students had the opportunity to immerse themselves in a traditional Mexican game during their Spanish class: La Lotería Mexicana!
The rules are simple: gather the cards announced by the "cantor" (Spanish for 'singer') and shout "Lotería" as soon as all the cards are collected on the grid.
At LFSF, we firmly believe that learning extends beyond textbooks. Our commitment to diversity and cultural exploration is exemplified through experiences like Lotería Mexicana. This game sparks curiosity, fostering connections across cultures at LFSF, and imparting language skills.
As we are celebrating LatinX Heritage month, events like these are a testament to our school's dedication to embracing our diversity and encouraging our students to discover each other's cultures. We're not only fostering an appreciation for LatinX culture but also nurturing global citizens who understand the value of cultural exchanges. Likewise, "Lotería" is more than a game: it's an educational journey, a new way to learn about cultures while having fun at school
