Mandarin students have started to prepare with their teacher Xuebing DING!
They have decorated the atrium with Victor RIVERA, using red lanterns, garlands and a painting of the tiger, they made with their art teacher Kim JENSEN.
They have also worked on an exhibition about :
- the origin of the Lunar New Year
- the largest human migration on the planet, which is the return of the Chinese to their homeland during the Lunar New Year
- the famous people in China and in the Chinese diaspora around the world
- and the history of Chinese immigrants in the United States
Dancers came on campus to perform the beautiful Lion dances! In Chinese culture, these dances are performed to bring luck and to get rid of the devil. Lions play an important role in Chinese mythology, they represent joy and happiness and that is all we wish you for the Year of the Tiger!
