This week, LFSF’s LEAF Club (Lycée Environmental Action Force) along with two grades of primary students, made a significant impact with their clean-up sessions that showcased our commitment to sustainability.
Our dedicated middle and high school students kicked things off at Duboce Park, where they collected an impressive 3½ bags of trash, contributing to a cleaner neighborhood.
Meanwhile, our Grade 2 students from both Ashbury and Sausalito teamed up for a beach clean-up at Ocean Beach. This hands-on experience deepened their understanding of environmental stewardship and the importance of protecting our coastlines.
All our Grade 1 students then visited Crissy Field for another clean-up. They learned about the critical role that marine life plays in our ecosystem and how pollution affects our oceans. By engaging in these activities, they discovered that small actions, like cleaning up beaches, can have a lasting impact on marine ecosystems for generations to come.
It was also a great opportunity to do some bird-watching. Captivated by pelicans, sterns, herons, seagulls, long-billed curlews, loons, sparrows... Their day was full of excitement!
