Celebrating Neurodiversity

This year LFSF is starting a new initiative called Neurodiversity Celebration Week.  We will host it from Monday APRIL 03 to Friday APRIL 07. All three campuses will be participating in the celebration.

What is Neurodiversity Celebration Week

Neurodiversity Celebration Week was founded in 2018 by a young woman named Sienna Castellon in order to change the way learning differences are perceived. Sienna is a teenager who is autistic and has ADHD, dyslexia, and dyspraxia and she found that people often focus on the challenges of neurological diversity.

Neurodiversity Celebration Week is a worldwide initiative that challenges stereotypes and misconceptions about neurological differences. It aims to transform how neurodivergent individuals are perceived and supported by providing schools, universities, and organisations with the opportunity to recognize the many talents and advantages of being neurodivergent, while creating more inclusive and equitable cultures that celebrate differences and empower every individual.

During that week, we aim to change the narrative and work towards a world that understands it takes all kinds of different minds

By celebrating the strengths of neurodivergent individuals, we want to begin the seismic shift of changing the way neurodivergent individuals are perceived and supported at school, empowering them to achieve their full potential.
