Renowned Drama Teacher

inspires drama students at LFSF

On OCT 13, the Theater Erick Moreau opens up the stage to a theater company led by the actress and director Virginie LEMOINE to offer a performance of "La vie est une fête". The renowned comedian, and published author, Gérard DIGGELMANN will be in attendance.

Coming all the way from Switzerland for the occasion, he offers up his talents for a free master class for LFSF option theatre students, as well as Studio TLF students.

The distinguished drama teacher's pedagogical approach comprises five different concepts to understand. They are each based on walking, seeing, listening, giving and receiving. Breath work is considered as just as essential, but dealt with on its own. His teaching methods are directly influenced by the Russian playwright Constantin STANISLAVSKI and from Peter BROOK, who taught him the importance of simplicity, and how to best get rid of embellishments.

He explains: "With my students, I work during six to ten weeks on 'excess' which has the ability to free oneself in order to be more expressive, then for another five weeks on the essentials: simplicity".

His interventions will take place on:

- OCT 09, from 4 to 6 pm with Gr10 Students

- OCT 10, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm with the Adults class

- OCT 12, from 3 to 5 pm with Gr11 & Gr12 Students

- OCT 12, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm with the Advanced Adults class
