LFSF students at the SDLC Conference

SDLC 2022 | We The People: Leveraging Our Community to Preserve Our Humanity

This week, 6 students are in San Antonio, TX, for the SDLC and People of Color Conference with DEIJ Director Alejandra NAVARRO. For the 35th year this conference has been held by NAIS and this year there is a record attendance of over 7,800 folks from 10 different countries!
Students are joined by thousands of other students to learn, explore and be inspired around topics of diversity, equity, inclusion, identity, cultural competency and much more. It is an intense few days but the students are invigorated and enjoying connecting with new friends.

About SDLC

The NAIS Student Diversity Leadership Conference is a multiracial, multicultural gathering of upper school student leaders (grades 9-12) from across the U.S. and abroad. SDLC focuses on self-reflecting, forming allies, and building community. Led by a diverse team of trained adult and peer facilitators, participating students develop cross-cultural communication skills, design effective strategies for social justice practice through dialogue and the arts, and learn the foundations of allyship and networking principles. In addition to large group sessions, SDLC "family groups" and "home groups" allow for dialogue and sharing in smaller units.
