Designing an online game in just a week? No problem for Gr 7 Isabella!
Isabella, a 7th-grade Lycée student, took only a week to program an online game--she brainstormed questions, drew the animation, and then coded her game.
She uploaded, “What Kind of Fruit Are You?” onto the online programming platform Scratch, intending just to share the quiz with her friends. However, she was surprised to find that her quiz was featured on the front page of Scratch.
Isabelle says that she began coding in her 6th-grade math class and enjoyed it so much that she joined a computer science class. Soon, she “became obsessed with coding, and started doing it for fun as well.”
Outside of computer science class, Isabelle learned from other young coders on Scratch, a platform that allows young coders to program interactive stories, animation, and games and share them with an online community. Now, she is a featured programmer on Scratch!
