Learning to Better Understand
Workshops to Understand Prejudice, Racism, and the Influence of Information

As a multicultural, multilingual, and international school, we want to provide our students with opportunities to develop critical thinking, historical understanding, open-mindedness and a strong sense of civic responsibility.
In this spirit, the Lycée will be hosting a series of workshops and live interventions for both teachers and students, led by professional educators from the Mémorial de la Shoah in Paris. Validated by the French Ministère de l’Éducation nationale, de l’Enseignement supérieur et de la Recherche, these workshops will address the following themes:
-
Everyday Prejudices and Prejudices Throughout History / Les préjugés au quotidien et dans l’Histoire
-
Information, Misinformation, and Propaganda / Information, désinformation et propagande
-
Us and Them: What Is Racism, Really? / Nous et eux : au fait, c’est quoi le racisme ?
In addition, students will attend live interventions (via Zoom in our Theatre), tailored to their grade levels:
-
WWII camp Survivor – for High School students
-
Holocaust Hidden Child – for Middle School students
The workshops will be led by trained mediators from diverse professional backgrounds (educators, and historians) and are built around archival documents and interactive pedagogical approaches designed to actively engage students.
This initiative represents an exceptional opportunity to deepen our students’ understanding of history, to reflect on contemporary issues such as racism, prejudice, and the manipulation of information, and to reinforce our school’s commitment to education grounded in empathy, critical inquiry, and respect for others.
