On Air: Students Hold the Narrative with Rainbow Radio

Primary school students during the making of Rainbow Radio podcast

At the Lycée, some of the most compelling stories are told by the youngest voices on campus — and right now, they're being broadcast.

The latest episodes of the Lycée Rainbow Radio are out, and students from our Ashbury and Sausalito Primary campuses have been busy: scripting, interviewing, recording, and producing their own podcasts in French. The result is four new episodes that are as creative as they are revealing of what learning looks and sounds like here.

At Ashbury

two groups of CE2 students turned their curiosity about a very concrete piece of school news into two distinct radio formats. Group 3 — Léonie, Eden, Molly, Breann, Mirabelle, Francis, and Marco — crafted a lively presentation introducing the Cantine coming to campus. Group 4 went further: Bruce, Brenton, Sophie, Victoria, Caroline, Diane, Lilia, and Lucie conducted a full interview with Farinaz AGHARABI  to give families everything they need to know ahead of the Cantine's September 2026 opening. Two groups, one topic, two very different approaches — and a masterclass in student journalism.

Over in Sausalito

Things took a more imaginative turn. Students from Groups 1 and 2 co-produced a two-part audio fiction series: Bienvenue sur Terre. It begins with something falling from the sky during recess — a flying saucer — and unfolds across two episodes, each narrated by a different group of students. The twist? By Episode 2, the extraterrestrial visitors have learned to speak French. Anaïs, Joshua, Gabriel, Barklay, Ava, Maja, Isabella, Sienna, Noah, Stewart, and Stella brought the whole adventure to life.

The Rainbow Radio program is built around skills that carry into every area of school life: oral expression in French and English, research and organization, confidence in front of a microphone, and the ability to collaborate with peers around a shared creative goal. Students learn to prepare questions, conduct interviews, use radio equipment, and tell stories that an audience actually wants to hear.

For prospective families, these episodes offer a genuine window into student life at the Lycée — the kind of initiative, bilingual fluency, and creative confidence we work to cultivate from the earliest years. For current families, they're a chance to hear your children's peers in a whole new light.

Two Molieres for FIN FIN ET FIN

The show 'Fin, Fin, Fin,' which graced our TLF stage in March, just won two Molières, France's most prestigious theatre awards: Best Comedy and Best Male Revelation for Lancelot Cherer. Our artistic director Frédéric Patto was there to celebrate! He spotted some familiar faces: among them, Alex Vizorek, who opened our season on the TLF stage, was the evening's MC! Bravo!
