THE TLF SHINES AT THE 37TH MOLIÈRES CEREMONY: TWO AWARDS FOR "FIN, FIN, FIN"
At the Lycée Français de San Francisco, the performing arts are at the heart of our mission. Through our theatre program, the Théâtre du Lycée Français (TLF), we bring the best of French-language theatre directly to our San Francisco community, and this spring, that commitment was celebrated on the biggest stage in French theatre.

A Triumphant Night at the Molières
On the evening of the 37th Molières ceremony in Paris, our artistic director Frédéric Patto was in the audience: and what a night it turned out to be!
The Molières are the most prestigious awards in French theatre, often compared to Broadway's Tony Awards or the theatre world's equivalent of the Oscars. Every year, they celebrate the very best productions, performances, and talents across the French-speaking stage. To have a show connected to the TLF recognized at this level is a moment of immense pride for our entire community.
Two Molières for "Fin, Fin, Fin"
The show at the center of the celebration? "Fin, Fin, Fin", a production that was on our very own TLF stage in March 2026, delighting our San Francisco audiences with its brilliance and originality.
At the 37th Molières ceremony, "Fin, Fin, Fin" took home not one, but two major awards:
- 🎭 Molière de la Meilleure Comédie — Best Comedy
- 🌟 Molière de la Révélation Masculine — Best Male Revelation, awarded to the outstanding Lancelot Cherer
These two awards are a testament to the extraordinary quality of the productions we bring to San Francisco. When our audiences watched "Fin, Fin, Fin" at the TLF in March, they were witnessing award-winning theatre, before the world even knew it.

A Night Full of Familiar Faces
Beyond the awards, the evening was filled with wonderful encounters. Frédéric mingled with many familiar faces, talented performers who have already graced our TLF stage in San Francisco, or who are set to do so in the coming season. A testament to the vibrant and tight-knit world of French theatre, and to the TLF's place within it.
Among those familiar faces was Alex Vizorek — comedian, performer, and the evening's remarkably entertaining MC — who opened our very own TLF season on the San Francisco stage earlier this year. Seeing him lead one of France's most prestigious cultural ceremonies was a proud and joyful full-circle moment for our community.
The TLF: A Bridge Between San Francisco and French Theatre
Evenings like this one are exactly why the TLF exists. Our theatre program is not just about entertainment, it is about giving our community direct access to the richest, most vibrant expressions of Francophone culture. From emerging talents to award-winning productions, the TLF is a bridge between San Francisco and the world of French theatre.
When you attend a TLF performance, you are not just watching a show. You are participating in a living, breathing cultural tradition that spans continents, and as this Molières night reminded us, the shows on our stage have a way of resonating far beyond our walls.
What's Next at the TLF?
Stay tuned for upcoming TLF productions and events. Whether you are a longtime theatre lover or discovering French-language performance for the first time, there is always something extraordinary waiting for you on our stage.
