Wellness Week 2026: What happened at this year's school assembly
A gathering dedicated to emotional awareness, student wellbeing, and navigating the digital world.

To kick off Wellness Week, students gathered for a special all-school assembly. A moment to pause, reflect, and reconnect with what it means to feel well, both inside and outside the classroom.
What is the Meta Moment? A student exercise in emotional awareness
Teachers Mélissa ROBÉ and Emmanuelle OFFNER opened the assembly with a presentation on the Meta Moment, a practice designed to help students pause and recognize their emotions before reacting. Students were invited to complete a short survey, placing themselves on a two-axis scale measuring both their energy level and their sense of pleasure or wellbeing (from low to high).
Emmanuelle, who teaches Biology at the Lycée, shared that she regularly uses this exercise with her classes before and after tests as a way to track how students are feeling: a small but meaningful window into their wellbeing over time.
Social media and student wellbeing: why digital awareness matters for teens
The second part of the assembly featured Nicolas LOUISOT, a researcher from the AEFE, who presented findings on the demographics of students at the Lycée, exploring the kinds of content, ideas, and values that young people in this generation are statistically more likely to encounter online.
His presentation raised important questions about the influence of social media and the spread of content that runs counter to the values upheld by the French Education system and the State of California, including messaging that promotes gender inequality or harmful ideologies like the incel movement. A timely reminder of the importance of critical thinking and media literacy in today's digital landscape.
Wellness Week 2026 continues with a range of activities throughout the week. Stay tuned for more updates, and take care of yourselves!
