What early college acceptances reveal about the Lycee

A strong start for our Class of 2025

As we reach the midpoint of the academic year, we can already share exciting news about our Class of 2025 and their early college admissions results. With 43 students preparing to graduate this year, we are seeing an impressive range of acceptances to prestigious institutions

Among the early acceptances, our students have secured places at Ivy League universities, including Harvard College, MIT, Columbia, and Brown. They have also been admitted to top liberal arts colleges such as Williams College, Scripps College, and Lewis & Clark, as well as renowned public and private universities, including NYU-Tisch, Northeastern, Fordham, Tulane, the University of Arizona, the University of Denver, and Penn State. Many students have chosen global opportunities, with acceptances to the University of Edinburgh, the University of St Andrews, and King’s College London. In California, where competition for university admissions remains particularly strong, students have earned places at UC Merced, Cal Poly Humboldt, SF State University, and Sacramento State.

These results reflect the diverse pathways our students pursue, from world-class research universities to innovative arts programs and international institutions that nurture a global perspective.

A Testament to Lycee Values and Educational Excellence

The success of our students is the result of rigorous academic preparation, the dedication of our faculty, and the support of their families. It is also a reflection of the Lycée’s unique approach to college counseling.

The four-year College Counseling from the Inside Out program prioritizes wellness, authenticity, and personal growth, ensuring that students make choices that align with their individual aspirations. This holistic and deeply personalized program spans Grades 9 through 12, helping students explore their interests, develop self-knowledge, prepare for college applications, and ultimately make well-informed decisions about their futures. In addition to course advising, test preparation, and career exploration, the program offers wellness support, customized enrichment programming, and service-learning opportunities.

The Lycée also recognizes that college planning is a family endeavor. From Grade 9 onward, we actively engage parents through a series of Parent Education Program (PEP) talks on topics such as financial aid, enrichment programs, testing, and athletic recruiting. By prioritizing the well-being and individuality of each student, this comprehensive approach ensures that our graduates find institutions where they can thrive academically, socially, and personally.

College preparedness goes beyond admissions

The quality of this year's early results are in line with past admissions and they certainly demonstrate how well-tailored college choices are to each student’s aspirations as well as the remarkable availability, and expertise of Lycée teachers and college counselors.

However, the challenge does not end with college admissions and the ability to adapt and succeed in the new university environment is just as critical. And the overwhelmingly positive feedback from our alumni and what they share when they visit the Lycee, is really how well-prepared they felt for university life.

This winter, around twenty alumni returned to campus to visit their former teachers, a reflection of the strong bonds between students and staff. The depth of these relationships is something we can all here witness. These connections demonstrate the lasting impact of a Lycée education.

kids playing together in playground

Before children begin using books, paper, pens, or tablets, they first learn how to live together, build friendships, and resolve conflicts. These fundamental, lifelong social skills are initially practiced on the playground and then intentionally nurtured through circle time, reading, class discussions, school plays, and clubs.

Our students participated in the AAEH contest

The theme of the 2025 edition is 'Francophonie: A Journey Through Time and Space'. Our students tackled this challenging topic with great skill, exploring what the French-speaking world means to them and the difficult, often problematic conditions under which it was formed. At times, they connected the subject to their personal histories, while also reflecting on how speaking French has proven beneficial in their lives.
