Celebrating Diversity, Practicing Inclusion

DIVERSITY STATEMENT

DIVERSITY STATEMENT

Our commitment to diversity in all forms is rooted in our belief that engaging with unfamiliar ideas, perspectives, cultures, languages, and people creates the conditions for intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, empathy, and growth needed to drive positive change in the world.

By joining LFSF, members of our international community commit to respecting, valuing, and celebrating the diversity and uniqueness of our students, teachers, staff and families, and to foster equitable, safe, and inclusive learning and working experiences for all.

Our bilingual community is made of many ethnicities, ancestries, colors, religions, gender identities, family structures, disabilities, sexual orientations, socioeconomic backgrounds, learning differences, and perspectives. We therefore commit to actively seeking and welcoming diversity in all forms, to building a community of care and solidarity standing against racism and hate, and to cultivating a culture of belonging to continue making our school competitive, vibrant and inclusive.

DIVERSITY

The condition of being different or having differences.

EQUITY

Fair treatment for all, while striving to identify and eliminate inequities and barriers.

INCLUSION

Everyone is included, visible, heard and considered.

Belonging

It refers to the feeling of being an integral and valued member of the school community, where students, teachers, staff, and parents, all share a sense of connection, acceptance, and inclusion.

Celebrating Neurodiversity

LFSF is starting a new initiative called Neurodiversity Celebration Week. All three campuses are participating in the activities. By celebrating the strengths of neurodivergent individuals, we want to begin the seismic shift of changing the way neurodivergent individuals are perceived and supported at school, empowering them to achieve their full potential.

The Land We Are On

We acknowledge that this space that we now occupy, is now part of our own history. We have been passed on this land and with that comes a responsibility to continue to care for it so that one day, we can also pass it on to future generations.
