The Wine Circle is a high-end gastronomy and wine event intended for guests to enjoy a unique epicurean experience as they contribute to the Lycée. All proceeds will benefit the Lycée MIND Scholarship dedicated to high school students who have demonstrated exceptional academic merit and are subject to economic constraints. It is Merit, Inclusivity, and Need Driven.

The fifth edition of the Wine Circle, will once again be held in one of the most prestigious clubs of San Francisco: the French Club - Cercle de L'Union, which wine connoisseur and gastronomy in-the-know highly appreciate. 

Enjoy the evening by savoring a French 5-course gastronomic dinner prepared by renowned chef Lionel BALBASTRE paired with a selection of exceptional wines.

Our vintners, guests at the table, will present their wine as it is poured. Professional auctioneer and vintner, Suzanne Tate, will auction off a carefully curated selection of a few wine lots and experiences. Guests will raise their glasses in toasts and raise their paddles for the Lycée MIND Endowment Scholarship (Merit, Inclusivity, Need-Driven) to ensure access to Lycée education.

HdV Wines, Guillaume Boudet

Guillaume Boudet joined Hyde de Villaine as a harvest intern in 2013 and became Associate Winemaker in 2015. Born in Bordeaux and raised in Toulouse, his passion for wine began with his grandfather, a cooper for Bordeaux’s first growth châteaux. He earned degrees in agricultural engineering, winemaking, and viticulture from the University of Bordeaux while working at top wineries in Sonoma and Bordeaux. At HdV, Guillaume focuses on terroir-driven winemaking that highlights the unique character of Hyde Vineyard with minimal intervention.

Fayard Wines, Camille Gaio

Julien Fayard is a winemaker with over 25 years of experience, crafting Fayard Wines alongside his team, including Camille Gaio, Director of Winemaking. Using traditional methods, Fayard Wines emphasize the importance of his traditional approach: “There’s a lot of anticipation in my decision-making on the ground,” he explains. “Great wine is a natural product of the grapes, which is why my philosophy is rooted in the vineyard.”

Six Bottles of Tajj 2022 Reserve Merlot

Take home six bottles of Tajj 2022, a limited-production reserve Merlot lovingly crafted by Jihane and Simon for their children — Talia, Jude, and Justin.

Named for them, Tajj is a 100% Merlot (mono-cépage) produced in the Pauillac style. Aged for 18 months in French oak, then transferred to new French oak barrels for a further 6 months, this wine shows depth, structure, and refined elegance.

Annual production is limited to 3,600 bottles, with the majority retained for the proprietors’ personal cellar, friends, and family. As such, this lot represents a rare opportunity to acquire a private reserve bottling of exceptional quality and limited availability.
